Description
This deciduous tree produces figs in summer and fall. The fruit is pear shaped with dark purple skin. Inside the fruit is sweet strawberry type pulp. Dropping fruit is messy. This tree can quickly reach 15'-30' tall and 30' wide. Leaves are deciduous, lobed and green. Trunk is smooth and gray. In cold winter areas, treat plant as a large shrub by planting in containers or espaliering. It prefers full sun and average, well draining soil. Birds love the fruit. Gophers like fig roots.
