This perennial will grow 5-6' tall and has tiny flat leaves with greenish flowers at the center. It also produces fruit that appears golden and then turns to dark brown.

Japanese Boxwood is often used as a hedge. It is compact, with small bright green leaves. It can reach 4-6' tall and wide or be kept smaller through pruninig. It can be sheared to shape. It does better in areas with milder winters.

Botanical name:Podocarpus macrophyllus

The Podocarpus macrophyllus is a beautiful plant that forms a slender column. Its pointed leaves are dark green in color, with a length of 4". This makes a good hedge, screen, or single specimen plant.

Dealing With Drought

Maintain a two to four inch layer of mulch on the soil surface to reduce weeds, infiltrate rain water, and reduce compaction.

Integrated Pest Management:

Remove irrigation water and fertilizer from areas where you don't want weeds to grow.
