Botanical name:Pelargonium X hortorum

Pelargonium hortorum is a shrubby, succulent perennial stemmed to 3' or more. Round or kidney shaped leaves are velvety and hairy, soft to the touch, aromatic, with edges distinctly lobed and scalloped toothed. Single and double flowers are flatter and smaller than those of Pelargonium domesticum variety, but clusters bear more blossoms.

This clumping perennial will grow less than 1' tall and has narrow, blue green leaves. Clusters of lavender flowers bloom in spring and summer. Leaves and flowers have a distinct onion or garlic smell if crushed.

Dusty Miller, Silver Groundsel

Common name:Dusty Miller, Silver Groundsel
Botanical name:Senecio cineraria

The Dusty Miller exhibits growth to 1' or more, with velvet gray leaves that have broad, roundish lobes. Yellow flowers heads appear through the middle of the plant during most months of the year. Head back occasionally to encourage bushiness.

Chinese Wisteria

Botanical name:Wisteria sinensis

While the sinensis is similar to the floribunda, it bears more rounded, full clusters of strongly fragrant flowers which open more or less all at once. There are usually 13-15 leaflets per leaf, and they require full sun and average to little watering. It comes in many colors in the blues, whites and purples.-Monterey Bay Nursery

These plants are one of the most useful succulents, due to their decorative effects and sculpturesque quality. The branched stems hold a wide rosetta of either light green or purple leaves. The flowers appear in long, clustered form. They need some shade in hotter areas. Prostrate forms are low-growing, and spreading.

Autumn Joy Sedum

Common name:Autumn Joy Sedum
Botanical name:Sedum 'Autumn Joy'

Noted as the finest of all upright Sedums, this telephium produces from its sturdy stems a variety of flower heads with an umbrella-like shape, whose color changes from pink to a rosy-red shade. This plant looses its leaves in the winter.

Catmint

Botanical name:Nepeta X faassenii

Nepeta faassenii makes soft, gray-green, undulating mounds o 1.5 ft. high in bloom. The small leaves are attractive to cats. This perennial has lavender blue flowers in late spring, and early summer.

White Gaura is a profusely flowering perennial for all zones that grows 2-4ft. high. It has pink buds that open to showy white flowers in spring and fall. It needs full sun and is drought tolerant. -Cornflower Farms

Star Jasmine, Confederate Jasmine

Common name:Star Jasmine, Confederate Jasmine
Botanical name:Trachelospermum jasminoides

The star jasmine is an evergreen vine that grows 20 ft. tall or a ground cover that reaches 1-2 ft. tall and 4-5 ft. wide. It has white fragrant flowers in the summer and can tolerate sun or partial shade. The star jasmine is also drought tolerant. -Cornflower Farms
