This low mounding perennial, with fine leaves and white to pinkish daisy-like flowers, is an excellent asset to rock gardens.

Botanical name:Aptenia cordifolia

Herbaceous perennial with fleshy heart shaped leaves on succulent stems. Tiny solitary red flowers appear among leaves. Foliage is shiny and bright green. Ground cover. Salt tolerant. Great in containers or planters or a hanging basket. Full sun or light shade. Be careful not to overwater. Can die back with heavy frost. Will not tolerate foot traffic.

Dwarf Carolina Laurel Cherry

Common name:Dwarf Carolina Laurel Cherry
Botanical name:Prunus caroliniana 'Compacta'

This large evergreen shrub or small tree has leaves that are glossy and 2-4" in length. It is excellent as either a formal hedge or an informal screen. It has creamy white flowers in late-winter and spring followed by small black berries. 'Compacta' reaches 8-10' tall and 6-8' wide and tends to be more dense.
